One of our first assignments in our Creative Explorations class was to 'creatively alter' a couple of our B&W negatives. By 'alter' i mean jump up and down on it, dip it in bleach, cut it up, draw on it, take a 180 grit to it, you know ... trash it! Photography, i'm not sure. Fun ... hell yeah!
